1. Agreement
This End-User License Agreement ("Agreement") is between you ("Licensee") and Gabriel Vieira ("Licensor", "we"), the developer of LiveTranslate ("the Software"). By installing, activating, or using the Software, you agree to this Agreement. If you don't agree, don't install or use the Software.
2. License grant
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement and a valid, active license key, Licensor grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on the number of computers permitted by your purchased license (see your Lemon Squeezy order confirmation for that number). This license does not transfer ownership of the Software — you're licensing it, not buying a copy of the underlying code.
3. Free tier
The Software may be used indefinitely without a license key, subject to functionality limits described within the app itself (such as a per-session caption limit). No payment is ever required to use the free tier, and you're under no obligation to purchase a license.
4. Restrictions
- You may not resell, sublicense, rent, or lease the Software or your license key to a third party.
- You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
- You may not remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices included with the Software.
- You may not use the Software for any unlawful purpose.
5. Third-party components
The Software includes open-source components (including speech-recognition, translation, and web-server libraries) that are each licensed under their own respective open-source licenses, separate from this Agreement. Your use of those components is also subject to their own license terms.
6. Ownership
The Software, including all associated code, design, and documentation, is and remains the property of Licensor. This Agreement does not grant you any rights to Licensor's trademarks or branding.
7. Updates
Licensor may release updates to the Software from time to time. Some updates may be necessary for continued functionality — for example, if a service the Software depends on changes. Updates are applied at your discretion via the in-app update checker, except where noted otherwise.
8. Fees and payment
License fees are set out on our pricing page and processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Payment terms, invoicing, and currency handling are governed by Lemon Squeezy's own terms.
9. Warranty disclaimer
The Software is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Licensor does not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any specific live event — you're responsible for testing the Software ahead of any event you rely on it for.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Licensor's total liability arising out of or related to this Agreement or the Software will not exceed the amount you paid for your license. Licensor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including lost revenue or disruption to an event — arising from use of the Software.
11. Termination
This license terminates automatically if you breach this Agreement. If your purchase is refunded, your license is deactivated. Upon termination, you must stop using the Software and may be required to uninstall it.
12. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
