This is a starting-point template, not legal advice — have it reviewed before you rely on it.

Who we are

LiveTranslate is developed and sold by Gabriel Vieira ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information is collected through this website and through the LiveTranslate application, and how it's used.

What this website collects

This website does not use cookies, analytics, or any tracking scripts. Simply visiting it does not collect any personal information from you. The only personal data involved anywhere in this flow is collected during checkout, and that's handled entirely by our payment processor — see "Payment processing" below.

What the LiveTranslate application collects

LiveTranslate is designed to run entirely offline. Once installed, it does not transmit audio, transcripts, translations, or usage analytics anywhere. There are exactly two exceptions:

  • License activation. When you enter your license key, LiveTranslate sends the key and a fixed activation label to our own license server, which we host on Cloudflare Workers. That label is the same for every installation of LiveTranslate — it does not identify your specific device or hardware, and is not a device fingerprint. Our license server then contacts Lemon Squeezy to verify the key, and returns a signed certificate that LiveTranslate stores locally on your computer. In this exchange, Lemon Squeezy receives the license key (relayed by our server, not sent directly from your device) and does not receive your device's IP address as part of this check. Cloudflare, as the host of our license server, does process the request in order to relay it to us — which includes your device's IP address, since that's how any request reaches a server on the internet. We do not collect or transmit any hardware identifier, MAC address, or other device fingerprint as part of license activation.
  • Update checks. LiveTranslate periodically checks a small, static file we host to see whether a newer version is available. This exchange contains no personal information — just version numbers.

Cloudflare's handling of requests to our license server is governed by their own privacy policy, available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Everything else — audio captured from the microphone, generated transcripts, translations, and your configuration — is stored only on the computer LiveTranslate is installed on, inside that computer's local application data folder, and is never uploaded anywhere by us.

Payment processing

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, acting as our merchant of record. When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy collects your payment details and email directly — we never see or store your card details. Their handling of that information is governed by Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy, available at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

Data retention

We don't retain audio, transcripts, translations, or usage information on our end, because LiveTranslate never sends us any of it in the first place. The only server we operate is the license server described above, which handles license-key verification requests. [Placeholder — confirm and fill in: how long does the license server retain the license key, activation label, and requesting IP address once a request is processed?] Your purchase record itself is retained by Lemon Squeezy under their own policies.

Your rights

If you're in the EU/EEA, UK, or another place with similar protections, you have rights under GDPR (or your local equivalent) over personal information held about you. Depending on where you live, this can include the right to access, correct, or delete that information, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict certain processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

In practice, there's very little personal information for these rights to apply to. LiveTranslate's offline design means we never receive the audio, transcripts, translations, or configuration from your services in the first place — there's nothing on our end to access, correct, or delete, because it was never sent to us. The only personal information that exists anywhere in this flow is your purchase record (email, payment details) held by Lemon Squeezy, and the IP address that briefly passes through Cloudflare when your license is activated, as described above. Requests about your Lemon Squeezy purchase record should go to Lemon Squeezy directly. For anything else — including questions about the license-activation exchange — contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

LiveTranslate is sold to organizations for use by adult operators, not marketed to children, and this website does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Continued use of the website or app after a change means you accept the update.
